SUMMARY: The AI Compute Access Fund helps Canadian SMEs access high-performance AI compute at reduced costs, accelerating innovation in sectors like energy, manufacturing, and life sciences. As part of Canada’s Sovereign AI Strategy, this fund aims to strengthen national AI capacity and make cutting-edge infrastructure more accessible to businesses driving economic growth.
Applications should clearly demonstrate how your project will:
- Advance with AI compute services (e.g. project objectives, implementation capacity)
- Contribute to innovation and productivity in your industry (e.g. new technologies, intellectual property)
- Benefit the wider Canadian economy and workforce (e.g. job creation, revenue)
- Impact communities and the broader Canadian public (e.g. environmental benefits, investment in local and Indigenous communities)
A total of $300 million is available in funding. Eligible project sizes can range from a minimum of $100,000 to a maximum of $5 million for the entire duration of the proposed project (up to three years).
DEADLINE: The AI Compute Access Fund will be accepting applications from June 25 until July 31, 2025.
ELIGIBILITY: Eligible applicants include Canadian SMEs who develop AI products or services, and have a commercialization plan to demonstrate a clear path to market.
